Report on external envelope systems
Fourth semester was spent in New Zealand, where I broadened my knowledge within constructions principles, building regulations, work environment and project management. This report is a documented research and comparison of two traditional and one non-traditional cladding systems that can be used in multi-storey office block, which is situated in New Plymouth, New Zealand. The report gives an insight on how the climate, corrosion, wind and seismic potential may impact the choice of external envelope. Pre-cast concrete, rainscreening and greenwall are the chosen cladding systems that have to be compared in terms of several functional requirements, such as buildability, cost, maintenance
