The Board of Directors of Tianjin Chengjian University has embarked on a program of refurbishment/ transformation of a laboratory building (The Lab of Protection Structure for Civil Buildings) situated on the campus area.

The existing building had to be transformed to study center, where conferences, concerts,performances could be held. It should also act as a "hang-out"  and a common study place for students.Thus, cafe,study rooms and offices should be accommodated in the building.

A big part of this project was communication. Both language and cultural barrier influenced the way of work, but did not have an impact on delivery of the project, as it was successful in every way.

Project was performed in collaboration of Danish constructing architects and Chinese architects.
